Sypnosis
Anne is now a resigned teacher and has long returned from Kingsport Ladies' College.
She lives with her fiance, Gilbert, in New York City as he begins his work
as a doctor in a hospital. Anne is introduced to a publishing company in attempt
to get her stories published. However, the both of them can't stand the bustling
city and their hectic jobs so they return to their beloved Avonlea. Just after
they got married and started fixing Green Gables, Gilbert is pressured into
enlisting as a doctor in The Great War. Anne stays behind and becomes a published
writer, but painfully realizes that Gilbert has been reported missing. Alone
and terrified, she leaves Avonlea and heads to Europe to find him. A lot of
wit, self-belief and determination will be needed if she is to find Gilbert
in war-torn Europe.

Trivia
- This is the only film in the series not to be based on anything actually
written by Lucy Maud Montgomery.
Anne Shirley: I've made up my mind to go to my grave unwept, unhonored and unsung.
Gilbert Blythe: But not unpublished.
Gilbert Blythe: You know, every day I would pick a different memory of you and play it over and over and over again in my mind, until every hair, every freckle, every part of you was exactly as I remembered.
Anne Shirley: But I keep thinking, if he was really dead, surely I would know that in my heart. I would feel a terrible... emptiness.
Gilbert Blythe: Marry me now. Let me go.
Diana Barry Wright: You do what the rest of us only dream of doing, Anne.
Anne Shirley: Everything I ever loved gets taken away.
